About

"Science Village - Something for the scientist, aspiring scientist, college science major, science teacher, science student, or interested hanger-on."

That's what I try for at least! Here's answers to some things you may be wondering.

So what exactly is Science Village?

Glad you asked. Clearly, it's a website! Hehe. Yeah, it's a pretty online-only periodical in which I find some subject to cover and write an Article about it with a science-related spin on it.

What subjects do you cover?

As you seen on the banner up top, Science Village celebrates biology, chemistry, physics, and geography, and the "everything in between" consists of paleontology, oceanography, meteorology, medicine, astronomy, and several others.

How technical does it get?

Well, it varies, although shouldn't be anything an average middle school or high school student wouldn't understand. I try to be detailed but try not to be incomprehensible, so it's a little uneven in that respect.

Who writes this stuff?

Why, I do!

Are you an expert in any or all sciences?

Hehe. Oh, my, no. I certainly don't claim to be. College grad, that's about it. I just love this stuff.

Do you accept guest submissions?

Not right now. I may eventually. Let's see how things go, first.

I saw a column/article/graphic on SciVille that I think is cool. May I copy it on a message board or website?

Ask me first. Feel free to post links to said page, though! I intend to always keep links active.

Why isn't there anything about psychology around here?

Because it's not a natural science.

Do you discuss any science vs. religion issues?

It's been brought up once in the third issue's Column. That pretty well covers it.

Why has it been like forever since there was a new issue?

I'm lazy. Don't always get around to it as quickly as I'd like. But often I'm busy trying to rearrange things.

Are you sure some of your information is correct?

No, I'm not sure. I'm at the mercy of my sources and whatever understanding I have of said subject. If a false bit of information around here, provided it's factual and obviously not just my own rantings in the Column or something, bothers you, by all means let me know from the Contact form.

So that's about the size of the Village. Enjoy!
